Entrol, manufacturer of EASA and FAA certified FNPT, FTD, and FFS flight simulators, has announced the sale of a Level 2 FTD Air Tractor AT802 Fire Boss simulator to Cargolux Airlines International S.A.. This simulator, expected to be delivered in December 2025, will play a key role in training the pilots of Aquarius Aerial Firefighting, Cargolux’s subsidiary specialized in aerial firefighting operations.

An essential tool for firefighting training
The Air Tractor AT802F FTD Level 2 simulator offers an immersive and accurate training experience, with a fully replicated cockpit and a state-of-the-art cylindrical visual system. Its primary purpose is to enhance pilots’ skills and knowledge in critical firefighting operations, where specialized training is crucial for safety and operational success.
The simulator includes an ENVISION database with high-resolution scenarios for Spain and Germany, including high definition areas selected by Aquarius. The simulator incorporates a vibration system, providing a more realistic training experience for turbulence, landing impact, and stall buffet. The combination of advanced simulation and Entrol Mission, theproprietary Entrol mission simulation module focused on firefighting, enables training in realistic conditions without putting pilots at risk thus improving operational effectiveness and emergency response capabilities.
A groundbreaking simulator for Aquarius AFF
For Aquarius AFF, this Air Tractor AT802 Fire Boss simulator marks a significant milestone in training capability in-house, compounding their commitment to rigorous pilot training. .
Juanjo Lechosa, Business Manager at Entrol, commented: “This simulator will mark an important addition to the Cargolux Flight Training Center. Not only will it enhance their capacity to train the growing community of dedicated aerial firefighting pilots, it will also improve the safety and efficiency of Aquarius AFF’s operations. Collaborating with Aquarius Aerial Firefighting has been an enriching experience, and we are proud to be part of this initiative to improve pilot training in such delicate situations.”
The value of simulation for firefighting
Entrol has been a pioneer in creating simulators tailored to firefighting, integrating tools like Entrol Mission for training in rescue and firefighting operations. Entrol continues to push forward with cutting-edge technology, allowing the creation of highly realistic environments that enhance pilot preparation and strengthen the operational capabilities of aircraft operators in extreme conditions.
